The former Chicago Bears running back was released by the team in June 2008 after he was arrested in Austin, Texas, on a charge of driving while intoxicated. It was Benson's second alcohol-related arrest in five weeks. He was the fourth overall pick in the 2005 draft out of the University of Texas. He has rushed for 1,597 yards in 35 games in his first three seasons with 10 career touchdowns.
