The former Chicago Bears running back was released by the team in June 2008 after he was arrested in Austin, Texas, on a charge of driving while intoxicated. It was Benson's second alcohol-related arrest in five weeks. He was the fourth overall pick in the 2005 draft out of the University of Texas.
