Created by Darren Star, this series redefined the single life for thirtysomething urbanites. For sex and relationship columnist Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), life as a thirtysomething single in New York City is a whirlwind of fabulous parties and plenty of dates. She and her friends -- sarcastic Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), demure Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and flamboyant Samantha (Kim Cattrall) deal with life, love, and relationships. Men may come and go, but these four women will always have each other. They bond over brunches, vent over vodka martinis, and sympathize while on a shopping spree. As Carrie says, maybe they don't need men -- maybe they're each other's soulmates.
They might not need men, but that doesn't mean they're not going to have fun dating. Over the span of six seasons, just about anything can -- and does -- happen to the ladies as they hit the dating scene. From the revolting, slobbery kisser to the Viagra-popping Don Juan, the repressed Catholic to the twentysomething slob, they dine with (and sleep with) a veritable catalog of Manhattan men. But Carrie and company don't label every guy a lost cause. There are men that stick around, too -- from suave, mysterious Mr. Big (Chris Noth) to kind, genuine Steve Brady (David Eigenberg). Sincere Aidan (John Corbett), who just wants to get married, and WASPy, old-money Trey MacDougal (Kyle MacLachlan).
Through it all, the women turn to each other for support, sympathy, laughs, and advice. In a cloud of perfume and Prada, the fabulous foursome tackles the NYC dating scene with style, aplomb -- and a much-needed sense of humor.
Sex and the City airs Weekdays at 12:30am and Sundays at 12 and 12:30am on MyPHL17.
