The Phillies held Ballgirl tryouts Wednesday for the upcoming 2010 Phillies baseball season. Talented women from the Philadelphia area were invited to tryout. Winners will be announced in December. It is expected five to ten women will be asked to join the Phillies Ballgirl team.
Candidates include: athletes, teachers, social workers, engineers, actuaries, surgical and nurse technicians, as well as an ASA umpire, martial arts instructor, U.S. ambassador for the Nike+ Human Race, softball player featured in the Reese Witherspoon movie "How Do You Know", and THON chairperson. Also trying out is a former " NFL Punt, Pass and Kick Champion" with the Baltimore Ravens and "Miss Gibbsboro."
