PHILADELPHIA – MyPHL17 As the proud home of the Mummers for fourteen consecutive years, myphl17 is thrilled to announce the live broadcast of Comcast Presents The Bacon Brothers: A Night with the Mummers benefit concert from the Electric Factory on Saturday, December 5th from 8pm to 10pm. This live event is a fundraising effort on behalf of www.savethemummers.com, a nonprofit organized to raise money to enable the Mummers to continue strutting up Broad Street for years to come.
MyPHL17's Steve Highsmith will host the evening, with Michael and Kevin Bacon of the Bacon Brothers Band headlining the fundraiser. The concert will also showcase performances by various local musical artists including Bunny Sigler, the Polish American String Band, and members of a several other Philadelphia-area string bands. The Mummers Parade is a long-time Philadelphia tradition and 2010 will mark its 109th edition of the parade.
To purchase tickets to Comcast Presents The Bacon Brothers: A Night with the Mummers visit www.savethemummers.com. General admission tickets to the benefit concert cost $39.50 and VIP Balcony seating is $100 which includes additional perks. Electric Factory doors will open at 7pm and the show will continue until 11pm.
